The Star Citizen Competitive Combat Club is hosting our second 2v2 AC tournament on April 29th at 17:00 UTC (1pm EDT, 10am PDT). There will be a 30 minute pregame show before the matches begin at 17:30.

The tournament will be structured as a double-elimination bracket (http://starcitizencompetitivecombatclub.challonge.com/2v2_262), with seeding based on performance in the previous tournament. Each match will be decided by a best of 7 rounds and will be held in a Free Flight game. For each round, the two teams will square off at 10km, ready up, and then fight until one side is eliminated (see specific rules below). The first team to win 4 rounds wins the match.

The prize pool is currently at **$122** (to contribute, donate here: https://streampro.io/tip/starcitizenccc) and will be split 70/30 between 1st and 2nd place (via paypal). **Both players must be in the SC4 Discord channel (https://discord.gg/qK7sXrE) to participate**. This is how we set up matches and communicate.

Registration will be done via Challonge (ie, here). After making sure that both members of your team are on the SC4 Discord server, use the tournament signup page (http://starcitizencompetitivecombatclub.challonge.com/tournaments/signup/DGKEkARk08) to join. This will require creating an account and team, if you haven't already done so. Set Organization to to the Star Citizen Competitive Combat Club and include an appropriate avatar for displaying on the stream.

To enable a smoother streaming experience, we ask that each team include following information in the team's Description field for each participant:

  1. RSI *HANDLE* (this is different from the moniker)
  2. SC4 Discord name
  3. Control scheme
  4. Preferred ship and loadout
  5. Primary SC Organization
  6. Location/nationality/whatever (be as vague or specific as desired)
  7. Anything else you may with to include that is related to SC -- time as a backer, leaderboard activity, etc.

Registration will end on April 27 at 17:00. Contact @malogos or @chiefgully if you have any trouble signing up.

Officials will be inviting players to each match, so **ensure that you have the following RSI contacts added so we don't have to waste time setting up matches: malogos, chiefgully, corwinsk, hermeneze, pilgrimx**. The streamers and officials will choose which matches to broadcast.

Direct any questions to @[RS] malogos#3602, as well any interest in being an official.

  • Ship restrictions -- no Connies, Caterpillars, Retaliators, or Starfarers
  • No missiles (they're currently broken. Using a missile will result in that team losing the round, not the whole match (although don't be a dick about it)
  • The final game will be a single, 7-round match

Match Procedure

*Because both the player inviting and the invitee must be on each others' friends lists, officials will handle invites for each match*. The names of the officials is listed above. ADD THEM NOW.

1. The official and players will join the Discord voice channel that corresponds to the match number (matches are numbered in the bracket).

2. If it's a team's first game of the tournament, the official will go over the Round Procedure.

3. The official will create a lobby for Free Flight - Dying Star, and invite all players (and streamers) for that match. *Before launching, everyone should double-check their ship selection.*

4. Game will launch, and players should all activate their in-game chat. Officials will make sure everyone connected successfully. Players should move to separate voice channels or their own voice chat.

5. Round Procedure: Each match consists of several rounds -- the first team to win four rounds wins the match. Each round proceeds as follows:

5A. Teams will group up 10km from each other (the captains of each team will target the other captain and move to a position 10km from them. The teammates should follow their captain closely).

5B. In chat, if it's the first round, the higher-seeded team will say "ready" when ready. For subsequent rounds, this will be done by the team that won the previous round.

5C. When ready, the other team will say "ready", and the round will start. Players do not need to wait for an official -- the match starts when the 2nd team says ready.

5D. Teams will fight until only one team remains -- no respawning until this has happened. The surviving team has won the round.

5E. Any surviving players will eject to get a new ship.

5F. If someone disconnects, finish the round in progress and then restart the match afterward

5G. Repeat step 4 until one team has won 4 rounds and the match.

6. Official will report results in the bracket.
